This is extremely interesting. Is the premier league an example of a market that is exhibiting market failure? Has it failed? How would you use theory to describe it? Should there be government intervention and in what form? @chrishutchinson

@gcupdates Luckily it was a theoretical “hurt”. No actual external cost but it was close. Last time I take my dogs in the garden during fireworks then! We don’t actually know those neighbours (back fence) so they probably don’t know!

Not a recession as defined yet but obviously not a good stat. We could focus on the summer improvement, as a long term economic health indicator but can’t ignore potential long term impacts of unemployment.

@gcupdates No but I was free riding my neighbours fireworks on 31st Dec. We suffered from asymmetric info though because we didn’t know about the external cost of debris from a rocket falling into our garden and hurting one of our dogs 😲
