CETA Whistleblower Tumiso Mphuthi Dismissed After Disciplinary Proceedings

Tumiso Mphuthi, a senior supply-chain management official at the Construction Education and Training Authority (CETA) and a whistleblower who raised allegations of procurement irregularities, has been dismissed following disciplinary proceedings.

Mphuthi had made protected disclosures concerning alleged corruption and tender irregularities at CETA. She has maintained that instead of her allegations being properly investigated, she became the subject of disciplinary action over matters linked to the very issues she had raised.

According to Blueprint for Free Speech, Mphuthi was found guilty of 40 of 62 charges and dismissed. The organisation described her case as an example of the risks faced by whistleblowers who expose alleged wrongdoing within public institutions.
