Dear journalists of the world: We are at risk of losing basically everything. This - what we're experiencing now - is how that process unfolds. The more fossil fuels we burn, the further in that process we go.

You MUST begin to tell 5 critical truths. Civilization depends on it.

[Prof Julia Steinberger @JKSteinberger]

We should all be this angry.
Remember: the fossil fuel companies knew HALF A FUCKING CENTURY AGO the hellscapes they were creating for us. Ending fossil fuels means limiting human suffering.

#ClimateChange is about consumption of richest people in our global society

50% of global life style emissions are emitted by richest 10% of the population.

90% of global emissions by richest 50% of the population.

We need #ClimateJustice to deal with the #ClimateCrisis fairly

[Jason Hickel @jasonhickel]

The "migration crisis" is overwhelmingly about the Western ruling classes making other countries increasingly uninhabitable and then militarizing their borders against the dispossessed.

In this reflection, captured at the UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues in April 2023, Indigenous activist Puyr Tembé calls on all of us to "reforest our minds" by considering how we want to leave the planet for future generations.

We’re OK until the end of the century right? - @GMB presenter

Human civilisation is set to be obliterated by the end of the century- @IPCC_CH author @JKSteinberger

The media are so far behind the science it’s terrifying.

[James Edward Hansen @DrJamesEHansen]

Revised draft paper “Global Warming in the Pipeline” available for comments: https://t.co/hkkuV7lQiX It includes analysis of the Cenozoic era, providing many insights. Access the draft paper: https://t.co/kouEWHc61I

[Media Tell The Truth XR @TTTMediaXR]

"We are facing a trajectory & impacts that will obliterate the possibility of human civilisation by the year 2100"

She's not saying human civilisation will last until 2100, but that it will be *impossible* by 2100 on the current trajectory.

So we can and must change trajectory.

[Risk Expert tells the Truth about Climate @MarkCranfield_]

The scientists have been captured by fossil fuel interests for decades and don't have a clue what's really happening. This is extremely dangerous because scientists are implicitly trusted.

The latest modelling, the IPCC, James Hansen and V. Ramanathan are in unison. This planet will inevitably blast through 2°C in the 2040s.

These are Hansen's exact words: "Global warming of at least 2°C is now baked into Earth's future. That level of warmth will occur by midcentury."

The land surface currently warms around 50% more than the global average and this gap will keep widening.

So humanity is facing an increase in land temperature from the current 1.8°C to more than 3°C over the next *20 years*. Regional increases will be much higher.

Our modern, highly integrated, extremely computerised and electrified, just-in-time supermarket societies cannot withstand that rate and magnitude of warming and will collapse over the next 5, 10, 15 years. In fact, no society can withstand it.

All I ever do is state the blindingly obvious. Climate change is absolutely brutal. There will be no second chances. Every time activists ignore my messaging, which is actually the combined messaging of everyone I've learned from, they are potentially causing early deaths in the future, possibly even their own deaths.

In the UK, demand that the govt implement @theCCCuk's adaptation plans. Support Rupert Read's campaign for grassroots resilience or do similar. Protect children and the vulnerable.

I don't know how I can say this any more simply. No new oil, emissions cuts, net zero etc, all of it is fossil fuel hopium propaganda, entirely meaningless and useless in the real world, supported and reinforced by the expert community which has been captured by vested interests for decades.

As floods & fires rise, oceans boil & ice melts, and "safe" temperatures are breached, something momentous just happened in the heart of the EU. No one has heard about it: journalists were present, but their editors refused to publish 🤯.
