A 6-year-old girl chose to feed homeless people on her birthday instead of having a party โค๏ธ
This is a heartfelt story that only few people knows. On March 5 2017, A six-year-old girl named Armani Crews from Chicago turned her birthday into something unforgettable.
While most kids look forward to balloons, toys, and a big celebration, Armani had a different wish in her heart - she wanted to help people who didnโt even have a proper meal.
Instead of asking for presents, she requested her parents to use the birthday money to prepare food for homeless individuals in her community.
With nearly $300 and support from their local church, Armani and her family cooked a complete homemade meal. The menu included fried chicken, fish, spaghetti, vegetables, mashed potatoes, cake, cookies, and bottled water.
They also arranged small care packages filled with daily essentials like toothbrushes, toothpaste, hand sanitizer, and snacks, simple items that can mean so much to someone in need.
That day, in East Garfield Park, more than 100 people were served hot meals and treated with kindness and respect. For many of them, it wasnโt just about the food, it was about feeling seen and valued. One man even shared emotionally that he hadnโt enjoyed a warm, home-cooked plate in a very long time.
