@JoannaNoBanana Even though I know I shouldn’t, I do it every time. Just like when night rolls around and I’m not in much pain, I stay up later to enjoy that instead of sleep — even though sleep is necessary to keep flares down.
When it comes to school book bans, we need a powerful community response that puts students first and backs up teachers and librarians. That response starts with a clear understanding of what is happening. Here's what I see going on as of 12/4/21.
@_Judy_Bennett Yep and same. With all the extra physical and verbal aggression, my usual SEL practices are not working. I can barely manage a small group, much less a whole class (which, after 25 years of teaching, is difficult to admit).
@MuthaHoney@MartinOdimaJr The work I’ve had to do during this pandemic to make sure my students are getting what they need has really highlighted the inequity between what we do and what other Unit A teachers do for the same $. Having been both Gen Ed and SpEd, I know how much the work differs.
