Todayโs mystery reader brought in such a silly bookโฆletโs all hope that our Thanksgiving guests are nothing like Goatilocks! Weโre much more into Rams ๐ ๐ than goats anyway!! ๐คญ
Thankful for a sweet class who was excited to listen to this writerโs personal narrative today, since she was out sick during our celebration. She shared that she had been working on making this piece itโs very best since the first week in October ๐คฉ!
Thank you to our very first mystery reader for getting us in the Thanksgiving spirit with this fun read aloud! We then talked about whether our disguises would keep a turkey safe! ๐ฆ
The whole class cheered when they learned that these Ss were promoted to purple and light blue belts this week! Then I was treated to a reenactment of each of their tests! ๐ฅ Celebrating ALL wins for this crew always ๐๐
Another post lunch read aloud student cameo! This student had a tricky word that we worked on together, told me she wanted to practice the whole book again, then let me know she was ready. So proud of the strong reading habits forming in 1-L!! ๐ ๐ ๐
Ss explored nonfiction books and practiced making predictions by only viewing the covers and taking a picture walk during reading. This is only our 2nd day in this new unit and theyโre already finding ways to make meaning!
1-L scientists were back at it today with a little exploration of some of the tools they will have the chance to use throughout this school year! ๐ ๐งฒ โ๏ธ
As we kicked off our very first science unit today, Ss were asked to draw what they believed a scientist looks like. I was so happy to see many draw themselves as the scientist!! ๐ฉโ๐ฌ ๐งช ๐จโ๐ฌ
I couldnโt think of 2 more deserving friends to be recognized for being respectful by the playground/lunch aides during this morningโs School Pride assembly! ๐๐
Whatโs better than seeing Seรฑor Becker once a week?!? Getting to see him 2x this week! Today, 1-L enjoyed a writing lesson (in English) on using their 5 senses to help them elaborate in their own writing! ๐
This writer shared how he realized he was having a tricky time keeping his pages in order. He chose to add page numbers just like books to help him organize his writing. I saw many other writers adding page numbers of their own after his tip!
Roll the die, name the shape, then use it to begin composing a hexagon! If you passed our classroom during math today, you wouldnโt have believed it wasnโt a play break based on Ss energy and excitement! #MathIsFun @Inv3_Math
