Instagram and Facebook are down, and one of the first things I saw people saying was:
"I thought my time had finally come."
An outage used to make people assume the platform was having a problem.
Now people assume the platform has a problem with them.
Crazy times we are in!
When users can't tell the difference between a technical failure and an enforcement action, something has changed in the relationship between platforms and their users.
Give us back our accounts!
BUYER BEWARE - Meta wants you to buy these glasses, create a Meta AI account, and connect everything through the account center to give you a "connected experience." What they don't tell you is that if ONE account gets falsely flagged or suspended, the impact extends beyond that account. One of my IG accounts was falsely flagged as belonging to someone under 13. I'm almost 40.
Because everything was connected through the account center (just as Meta encourages), that one issue affected my connected Meta AI account and my $400+"AI glasses".
If you do buy these glasses, I would think carefully before connecting your Meta AI account to account center that contains your social accounts.
We are entering a era where decisions about your digital identity can affect physical products you've already paid for. An IG account issue should not impact access to $400+ piece of hardware, but that's exactly where we are.
AND on top of that, there is absolutely NO support.
@2sidessamecoinn@tinakriisss I’m so upset too! There has to be something that can be done. I just don’t know what to do. I know they do allow people to get their accounts back but you have to “know” someone or be a celebrity or something. Which in itself is favoritism and shouldn’t be allowed.
The fact that my falsely disabled IG account can brick my META AI glasses and hold my video hostage is crazy work. If META is going to market a “connected experience” across their ecosystem, they should also inherit the responsibility that comes with connected failure. Hardship ownership shouldn’t disappear because of a false account flag.
