JUST IN: Sex worker leaders from across Namibia are gathered in Okahandja to commemorate International Sex Workers Day, an occasion aimed at recognising the dignity, rights, resilience and lived experiences of sex workers worldwide.

Speaking at the event, Namibian Sex Workers Alliance (Namswa) national director Pitti Peter described the day as a significant opportunity to reflect on the challenges and achievements of sex workers while strengthening collective advocacy efforts.

According to Peter, the gathering provides a platform for reflection, shared learning and the development of a stronger, more united movement capable of advancing the rights and well-being of sex workers across the country.

Peter said NAMSWA, as the umbrella body representing Namibia’s sex workers movement, continues to play a central role in bringing members together and supporting advocacy initiatives.
