Round 1 of the Grade 4 Olympic Games: The A-maze-ing Race. All countries showed great sportsmanship and worked together to make it through the maze. Congrats to Silky Socks for winning gold in this round! @StJeromeOCSB

As the school year winds down, my class has been preparing for the Grade 4 Olympics. Each team made a flag. The countries competing this year are: Silky Socks, Taiwan, The Ireland Leprechauns, and EDALAC. @StJeromeOCSB

An advantage of snow days is that you get to spend more one-on-one time with your students. A JK student asked me to cut out shapes. She told me this story, “Snowman bubbles! Unicorn fish is blowing kisses. It laid an egg with a unicorn baby fish inside”. #kindergarten @OCDSB

I learned how to implement SK-SLIP, a program that fosters oral language development. Read a book with visual cues and have students find the sentences to place in their book, or work on sentence structure/grammar by having students fill in boxes with the appropriate word @OCDSB

Students in my kindergarten class are learning how to play tic-tac-toe. It is a difficult concept, but they are getting there and most of all, they are learning how to take turns #kindergarten @OCDSB

Students took turns rolling letter and number cubes, and identified what they rolled. When they rolled a “W,” students at the opposite side of the circle said it’s an “M.” They’re not wrong; it certainly made for a good learning opportunity on perspectives #kindergarten @ocdsb

Coming back 2 school after a long break students should walk into a classroom that looks new & fresh. New bulletin boards or new seating plan. Catch their attention the moment they walk into the classroom.

Students learned about fire prvention, how to stay safe in house fires, and that firefighters don’t just put out fires; they respond to other incidents as well. Thanks @OttFire @OttFirePrevent for speaking to our students

We ran into a problem today, we only had red, yellow, and blue paint. My kindergarten students rose to the challenge and were still able to make their pumpkins orange, their leaves green, and their grapes purple.
