I have had some fantastic interactions with students during our first few days of #shelteringinplace#remotelearning. It's heartening to see half my 6th graders all show up in an @zoom_us lessons, mostly just to say hi to each other, but also to ask questions and get work done!
@Mr_ColinJames Go easy on yourself. Teaching is tough. Find mentors and keep in touch with them. The one resource I wish I'd had in my first year that I found later was the book Conscious Classroom Management. It didn't just say what to do, but also explained the how.
It was amazing meeting the wonderful #merit19 cohort! Love the energy. Thanks again @LisaTeachesTech and @bribriggs for giving me the opportunity to present and grow as an educator! Can’t wait to see, share, and collaborate with many of you! #meritfamily@krausecenter
@innovatocreato @molapus Thank you Merve @molapus and #merit19 for the opportunity to build community while we think critically about technology and equity in our worlds. Inspiring!
@MrVaudrey I'll be brave & not lurk (which was my instinct). I am mostly in the awareness phase, but trying to find ways to make changes. It's hard & scary. Privilege is being able to step back & "take my time" facing #equity & making changes. As I understand, PoC don't have that choice.
@kairyssdal Permanent daylight saving time would result in *more* people getting up in the dark more of the year. I'm all for skipping the time change, but I'm in favor of permanent standard time, like Arizona and Hawaii.
