@GiftedTawk Get rid of the things that were already in the classroom unless you know how you would use it.
I just got rid of stuff after 4 years that I held onto "just in case!" Now I have room to organize
Connection is important. This is my 3rd year with these students, some of which will be off to middle school when I'm back at that school site. This felt like the first time in almost a year that I really saw them and it warmed my teacher heart. Thanks Cocoa Pebbles.3/3
My students have felt very distant this year (no pun intended). Especially my upper graders. I was going over our last design project of the year before I switch schools and we were discussing material options. I held up a cereal box of Cocoa Pebbles and stated 1/3
that cereal box cardboard is an easier material to use compared to thicker cardboard. This led to a whole conversation about our love for cereal.
Cameras turned on, students smiled and laughed comparing cereals and debating if sugar cereal makes a better breakfast or dessert.2/3
Teachers are great at giving grace to students but terrible at giving themselves grace. So, Doubt yourself less, be less critical of yourself, and give yourself a break when it comes to balancing home life.

"You showed me that when I'm frustrated if I keep trying and ask for help I can solve the problem"
"You really help me be creative"
@MrDevyDev I currently enjoy when my principal comes into my class. He's supportive and positive. He also has a good relationship with students so they aren't nervous when he walks in. I've had the opposite experience as well depending on the admin
