@OPay_NG Are you aware that the NDPC’s 2025 GAID specifically lists unsolicited messages as a category of privacy violation.
What is the compliance team doing?
At what point did signing up for your services become consent to receive unsolicited loan marketing calls? @OPay_NG
It’s concerning how some companies in Nigeria handle customer data.
Do you people know it’s a violation of right? Starting with Section 36 of the NDPA(2023)
Nigerian companies should not interpret access to someone’s personal information as unrestricted permission to market every financial product under their umbrella.
And Nigerians should not have to endure repeated unsolicited calls simply because they opened an account!
@mide_xol@OPay_NG This is a very real problem. It’s very disappointing how Nigerian companies handle be customer’s data.
I wanted to complain about this. Thank you for reminding me.
Based on everything going on in the cybersecurity world, I’m randomly remembering how important it is to have an incident response plan.
It’s easy to get overwhelmed with how red the internet has been lately. I’ve seen so many videos and tweets of people trying to patch these…
Imagine having to figure everything out in the middle of a crisis when you could have had a plan to guide you through it.
Cybersecurity should never be an afterthought. The cost of it is too much
vulnerabilities, and honestly, I think I’d be overwhelmed too if I were in their shoes.
But it’s also making me remember the incident response plan I wrote for my simulated company and how important it is to know what to do before an incident happens.
