Then June happened, Parliament was breached, the Finance Bill collapsed and the same political class suddenly discovered that public anger can move faster than intelligence reports.

Now some of the very people who underestimated Kenyans are back with another comforting line for themselves, that you cannot defeat a sitting president.

That confidence sounds very familiar. Kenya has already shown that once enough people reach the same conclusion at the same time, all the assumptions made inside boardrooms can become useless overnight.

The biggest mistake Kenya Kwanza can make between now and 2027 is to underestimate Kenyans twice.
