Faiza (not real name) was 2 years older than my daughter who was 5 when her grandma started working for me.

I needed someone to help with the baby when my mum left after 3weeks that I gave birth to my last baby during COVID. A friend recommended her.

She used to come with Faiza because there was no one to leave her with. According to her (her son in-law), Faiza's father gave her the girl after she lost her last child.

The girl became very close to my daughter during this time as there was no school and they had just each other to play with.

Just before we moved last year I asked her grandma about her and she said she is back in the village in Katsina, she would soon be married.

Apparently, they went for Sallah 2 years ago and her Father's friend saw her, developed interest in her and the father gave his consent.

I almost went mad with rage, the granny said " Toh, ya sa n yi?" ( What will I do?) He is her father and he can do as he pleases with her, it's her mother that is my own daughter.

2 days before I finally moved, the mother ran to tell me that Faiza is back!!! She went to threaten the prospective ango that she will kill him and run away if he marries her.

The man called off the wedding, her father disowned her that school and city has corrupted her, her mother looked for money and sent her back to her grandma.

Now, she is back to school. Her granny now sells Akara and pap close to the junction.

She might have ended like this girl if she didn't save herself from her own father and his friend. People who should be at the forefront of protecting her.

When some of us are livid about the atrocities of these men, they think we are concurring stories to farm.

I'm all up for chastising wayward children, but in this video, that girl was triggered into a reaction, you cant hold on to my cloth/hair when I'm not a criminial, and expect me not to try to break free. As heard in the video, the girl constantly demanded to be left alone.

I just had the most shocking interaction with someone on Facebook here😭😭😭😭. This lady just confessed to the killing of 2 children in the most inhuman way. And termed it “snake pikin” I honestly don’t know how to feel. Why is the the heart of human evil and vile. The fact that practices like this still go on in people homes is just nauseating 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 Oh my God😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
