@CynthiaLPina The importance of lifelong learning is developing new skills and growing as an educator to grow with our changing world #5320EdTech#EdTech
@RutgersAltRoute It was awesome to hear from other educators and know that we face the same struggles and benefits while using technology. #AltRtEd#5320EdTech#EdTech @CynthiaLPina
@CarieClen@RutgersAltRoute Class dojo has a feature that allows parents to translate the text in Spanish as well! ๐ my parents mostly speak Spanish so I see they use it a lot
@BalazsMs@RutgersAltRoute Positive phone calls are important it keeps our parents connected and whenever you do need a conference they are more willing to listen and help out.
@FTSD_Donovan @RutgersAltRoute Iโm so glad to hear this! I like having that open communication where parents feel they can ask me questions about any concerns. It helps maintain a good relationship with them.
@RutgersAltRoute A5: I use ClassDojo to communicate with my parents and send out any notes or updates that they might have missed. I also used google voice to message or call them when necessary if they do not sign up for class dojo #AltRtEd#5320EdTech
@msspanarkelsays@RutgersAltRoute Yes! Itโs really great I love using technology, however learning it for myself and then trying to use it with a room full of students is difficult. Sometimes I worry that I will get stuck and ruin the experience for my students
@RutgersAltRoute A4: I think the most challenging part about integrating technology has been how fast paced it has been. Since the pandemic started the technology era has gone full speed ahead and sometimes it can be overwhelming #AltRtEd#5320EdTech
@DjuricGianna@RutgersAltRoute Thatโs great! Itโs awesome to have that support and help from another teacher. We all need that even if youโre a veteran teacher or a new teacher.
@RutgersAltRoute A3: During professional developments I try to take full advantage and get as much information from other teachers from other campuses. Everybody teaches differently so itโs refreshing to hear new perspectives on how to teach a topic and what works for them.
@TrueGem86@RutgersAltRoute My campus uses IXL as well and administration is pretty good about making sure every teacher incorporates it because it is a good resource
@tea4me55@RutgersAltRoute Yes! I agree professional developments are important to help us learn the resources first. I find myself googling a lot to try to find new, fun resources for my students.
@RutgersAltRoute A2: Definitely training my students to use the chrome books at first was difficult. Teaching them to log in to their devices took some time and since they are so little they donโt know how to type or use the mouse pad so they get frustrated #AltRtEd#EdTech
