One of my favorite sentences ever: “there is more mercy in Christ than sin in us” (Richard Sibbes).
When we lose patience with ourselves or get discouraged at how slowly we change, it is happy to remember the depths of Christ’s mercy. It is always enough to meet our need.
@LifewayResearch @BarnabasPiper Great insight in this article.
As a fellow PK and a youth pastor to PK's, I'm thankful for @BarnabasPiper. His writing not only ministers to me, but it helps me minister to others. Thank you for all you do, brother!
@graceisfunny_ I just default to like. Love seems like I’m a little too enthusiastic about it 😂 unless it’s like a very thought out and well meaning text. Then the pressure on which one comes in lol
If God is real, don't assume he will perfectly align with our views. If He never challenges our assumptions you may have a made-up God. We should expect God to challenge us on what we think is right somewhere in our lives- economically, socially, sexually, and personally.
“But I am not ashamed, because I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that he is able to guard what has been entrusted to me until that day.”
