Madison Spring Hut
A favorite approach is the Gulfside Trail from Lakes of the Clouds Hut. It is a classic alpine hike - 7 miles, all above treeline. From the 10-foot cairn at Thunderstorm Junction it’s almost paved in stone and you can really fly.

Though the peak of Carter Dome doesn’t have incredible views, the view of carter notch is gorgeous, and Mount Hight, only a short distance away, offers excellent views.
