These guns were allegedly being modified and sold to foreign nationals by a 71–year-old man in Cato Manor.

An intelligence-led operation by the eThekwini District Tracing Team this week took officers to this informal settlement.

Mbangiseni Ndlovu appeared in court yesterday and is expected to apply for bail next week.

The weapons were being sold for R2000 each.

While Ndlovu had been linked to the distribution of illegal guns for some time, his sales were focused on foreign nationals since late June.

Investigations are continuing.
