New season #shoutout for my Team Retford United under 9 stripes. My son had numerous try outs at multiple different teams, never made the cut, he has been called fat and slow. We very nearly quit but decided I would approach Retford United to see if I could set up a team.

I had a 2 week deadline to get a team registered, arguably I had bitten off more than I could chew especially whilst battling breast cancer, but I did it! Secured 2 sponsors and here we are. In true grass roots form a team for kids that just want to play and better themselves in skills, no try outs just a desire to play, we’re a fully inclusive team somewhere for children with disabilities to enjoy the game and be part of a team.

We’re yet to win a game but I love my mini badgers spirit with all my heart ❤️🦡
