How did Africa move from Unity and Ubuntu advocated by the likes of Samora Machel, Patrice Lumumba, Kwame Krumah, Oliver Thabo, Nelson Mandela to tribalistic politics?

As a people we have lost our soul. We have forgotten who we are; and as a result, we go to the people that plainly told us, we do not want to associate with you. We go to them and say: we want to learn. Learn what?

I am a African yes but sadly so because I have to share that identity with the barbaric vigilante groups and brutalisers of my brothers and sisters from Afrika. I have to constantly explain that that behaviour displayed by some of my people is not who we are as Africans.
