PUTRAJAYA, Malaysia — 9 July 2026, Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul and Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim shared a light-hearted musical moment, underscoring the warm ties between the two neighbouring countries during Anutin's official visit to Malaysia.
The performance took place during an official luncheon hosted by Anwar at the Prime Minister's Office in Putrajaya following bilateral talks and a joint press conference earlier in the day.
According to reporters covering the visit, Anwar invited Anutin to play the saxophone during the lunch reception. Anutin chose the classic song My Way, originally made famous byFrank Sinatra.
As Anutin began playing, Anwar picked up a microphone and joined in singing, with the two leaders standing together on stage as guests applauded the impromptu duet.
The relaxed atmosphere was widely seen as a symbolic gesture of the friendly and close relationship between Thailand and Malaysia.
