*Statement from the National Executive Chairman of the Bodaboda Safety Association of Kenya*
Following a productive meeting with Bodaboda leaders from Mombasa County, I am pleased to address key areas of concern and opportunity that we discussed. Our dialogue centered around enhancing security measures, empowering SACCOs, ensuring registration in the Social Health Insurance Fund, (SHA) and supporting government initiatives.
Security remains a paramount concern for our members. We are committed to collaborating with local authorities to implement effective strategies that enhance the safety of our riders and the communities they serve.
Empowering our SACCOs is vital for the economic stability of our members. We will continue to advocate for access to funding, training, and resources that enable these organizations to thrive, fostering a stronger support network for all riders.
Moreover, we emphasized the importance of registering with the Social Health Insurance Fund. Access to health services is crucial, and we encourage all Bodaboda operators to enroll, ensuring their well-being and that of their families.
Finally, we reaffirm our commitment to aligning with government agendas that support the growth and sustainability of the Bodaboda industry. Together, we can drive positive change and create a safer, more empowered future for all our members.
I thank the leaders from Mombasa for their invaluable insights and dedication to our collective cause. Let us continue to work together to elevate the standards and safety of the Bodaboda sector across Kenya.
Thank you
