Tomorrow, the fashion crowd descends on the French capital.
Part of @MIUMIUofficial Women’s Tales #32, AVEC KIM (Claire Denis, 2026) is an elegant short that follows Suzanne Lindon from the garage to the streets of the city.
Sandra Hüller and Markus Schleinzer at NYFF for ROSE. It is no surprise that Hüller won the Best Actress award at this year’s Berlinale with her compelling performance that lays bare her character’s humanity. Gerald Kerkletz’s crisp black and white cinematography and Tara Nome Doyle’s wordless vocal score are the other highlights of this mesmerizing, and at times infuriating, film.
Schleinzer mentioned that he has learned a lot about the craft of filmmaking from Michael Haneke when he was working as a casting director on his films and said that Haneke is happily retired and will likely not make any more films. He also showed off his Sandra Hüller hat.
MUBI will release Rose in theaters on December 11.
