The start of a new flight test campaign.
On Friday, our final full-scale prototype completed it's first piloted flight by Vertical Test Pilot, Paul Stone, marking a significant milestone as we continue to expand our flight test programme and advance toward certification.

What an opportunity! We’re so excited about Vertical’s next AMA featuring Chief Engineer David King!
A truly remarkable expert in vertical aviation, both helicopters and eVTOLs, David has attended every stop on Vertical’s American tour, meeting with investors, industry and civic leaders, media, and eVTOL enthusiasts. We were especially fortunate to have the pleasure of meeting David in both Manhattan and Atlanta.
Be sure to get ready for Friday, 29 May at 13:00 BST (08:00 EDT / 05:00 PDT) to submit your questions on Reddit, where David will answer them in real time.

Vertical Aerospace continues to execute on important milestones. Read the full press release below.
- First eVTOL to complete a two-way piloted transition under Design Organisation Approval oversight
- Secured financing package of up to 850 million dollar, strengthening liquidity and runway
- Advancing toward Critical Design Review (CDR) to lock in certifiable design and partnerships
We’re proving what’s possible.

Last week, we reached our most significant and critical milestone yet: our full piloted transition flight.
Let’s take a moment to recap this extraordinary achievement.
#verticalaerospace#evtol#aviation
April 14th we completed full piloted transition.
Starting from runway 08, we performed a vertical take-off and accelerated into wingborne flight. At this point, the aft propellers were stowed and the aircraft climbed in wingborne mode, continuing to fly conventionally.
We then decelerated to the required speed to initiate the transition phase. After reconfiguring for transition, we continued to decelerate on final approach, gradually reducing altitude before completing a controlled vertical landing.

It was a pleasure to welcome senior representatives from the @FAANews and @UK_CAA last week as we continue to ramp up our flight test activity.
The visit provided an opportunity to show Caitlin Locke, Daniel Elgas, Patrice Adjibly and Angela Stubblefield all three of our sites, share more about our technology, and give them a closer view of the progress being made across the programme.
At Vertical, we believe close engagement with regulators matters. Our flight test programme is being developed in close coordination with the CAA, helping to build confidence in the aircraft and de-risk the path towards certification. We look forward to continuing to work with the FAA, alongside the CAA and EASA, as the programme advances.
“This is the biggest possible milestone we could hit to de-risk certification”
Chief Test Pilot Simon Davies joins @Ash_TV on @NYSE Live to discuss the importance of our transition milestone and what comes next.

"It's the end of the beginning"
Hear from Chief Test Pilot Simon Davies straight off the flight that changed everything a week ago today.

We’ve completed a historic two-way piloted transition flight - moving seamlessly from vertical take-off to wingborne flight and back again, all in one continuous flight.
First to do so under Civil Aviation Design Organisation Approval (@UK_CAA) regulatory oversight.
This is the defining capability of eVTOL - the moment electric air taxis move from concept to reality.

Vertical Aerospace has achieved a historic milestone: piloted thrustborne transition.
An industry first under the oversight of the UK @UK_CAA working closely with @EASA toward certification.
This means our aircraft can now take off vertically and transition seamlessly into efficient wingborne flight - a critical step toward two-way transition.
