The AG SC Dr. Sam Mayanja has guided and advised the President. The AL'S advise as head of the Bar is very important to us Lawyers. Let the will of King Oyo stand until otherwise.
Andrew, I appreciate the point, but there is an important distinction between using AI to polish an expression and using AI to manufacture a thought. A polished response does not, by itself, prove that the ideas behind it were generated by AI. And, equally, the absence of polished language does not necessarily make the underlying views more human.
It is not AI, however, to think that the born Prince is irrelevant, or to compare his position to that of a child born of a prostitute mother. It is not AI to reduce the importance of the Queen Mother on the basis that her position is somehow diminished by a “mere marriage.” It is not AI to cast doubt on the validity of the late King’s will, or even question the Prince’s paternity, before we have properly established who the Prince is.
Those are substantive positions. They are human opinions, and people are entitled to hold them. But they should also be prepared to defend them on their merits rather than shifting the discussion to whether someone used AI to improve their grammar or presentation.
And perhaps that is the point: intelligence is not merely how sophisticated a sentence looks; it is also the quality, fairness and consistency of the thought behind it.
I have no problem with anyone using AI to polish their writing. I have a problem only when the AI question becomes a convenient way of avoiding the substance of an argument.
But this is my last contribution to this particular debate. Let us honour the King, respect Toro’s institutions, and allow the Kingdom to move forward with dignity.
