Our discussions centered on accelerating regional integration and ending the culture of protectionism by allowing free, unfettered movement of people, goods and services across the East African Community (EAC), for the shared prosperity of all the peoples of the region. I pledged to prioritize commercial diplomacy, sustainable use of Lake Victoria as a shared resource, and the use of Sports and Cultural ties to promote people-to-people diplomacy. Am proud to have played a pivotal role in delivering the East Africa Pamoja Africa Cup of Nations 2027 to the EAC region for the first time in history.

Uganda is Kenya’s most important bilateral partner on multiple fronts, including trade and cooperation in regional peace and security. I have every intention of further augmenting this special relationship during my tour of duty as High Commissioner Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kenya to the Republic of Uganda.
