Earlier today, Saturday July 5, 2025, UCAA’s Manager Human Resource, Ms. Jennifer Etit Okaka and the Manager Legal Services, Mr. Joseph Joel Okwalinga, together with other UCAA staff members, engaged and inspired students of Gayaza High School during a Career Guidance session held at the school’s campus in Gayaza. They shared insights into the various professions within the aviation industry, sparking interest among the students.

The event aimed to enrich and inspire students by offering valuable insights into various professions and diverse career opportunities available to them after school. Did you know? - @UgandaCAA Implemented Direct Routing Operations (DRO) within the Entebbe Flight Information Region (Ugandan Airspace) resulting in a number of economic and environmental benefits. Key benefits have been reduced flying distances for airline operators and reduced carbon emissions from fuel burns, among others.

In order to fully comply with International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO)’s global and regional Air Navigation requirements, the following were implemented:

Operational Meteorological Database (OPMET), a major milestone in the implementation of ICAO Meteorological Information Exchange Model. This is one of the enablers for System Wide Information Management (SWIM).

Electronic Terrain and Obstacle Data (eTOD) area 2, 3 & 4 for Entebbe International Airport with a full World Geodetic-coordinate System - 84 (WGS-84)

Developed the Roadmap for the Transition from Aeronautical Information Services (AIS) to Aeronautical Information Management (AIM).

Signed and implemented service level agreements with Data Originators to ensure the accuracy, timelines and completeness of aeronautical data and information. #Knowyouraviation #aviationdaily #aviationlovers
