The UPDF is set to launch what is being described as the tallest flagpole in Sub-Saharan Africa at the Ministry of Defence and Veteran Affairs (MODVA) and Joint UPDF Services headquarters, according to Acting Defence Public Information Officer Chris Magezi.
Dear Gen. @mkainerugaba ,
The nation is profoundly grateful for your extraordinary act of compassion. By channeling the entire UGX 100 million raised from your Birthday Run to this foundation, you have given hope to children fighting for their lives. Thank you.
Since CDF worked on AAA, same standard must apply to all public officials. @JoelSsenyonyi should also account for the reported UGX 1.45 billion in foreign travel and UGX 490 million in inland travel. Anyone involved in misuse of public funds must be brought to book.
@NinyeTabz
Joel Ssenyonyi, the current Leader of Opposition, is accused of building a mansion in Nakawa in just 4 months – a pace that raises serious questions about the source of funds for a politician on a parliamentary salary, so let the CDF help us investigate; he didn’t stop at the Nakawa mansion as sources allege he has acquired multiple other properties in record time, yet he leads the charge against government corruption – the irony is deafening; he used his influence to block Lewis from entering Parliament because Lewis was seen as a political threat, which is not leadership but elimination of competition through backdoor tactics; he is also accused of diverting Mwiru to the speakership race, effectively removing a strong voice from the opposition floor in a calculated move to consolidate his own power rather than serve the people; he preaches transparency but allegedly built a Nakawa mansion faster than any government project, leaving Ugandans watching and wondering how an LoP affords such luxury in months; his rapid property acquisitions, political manipulation, and silencing of rivals paint a picture of an LoP more interested in his own wealth than in holding the executive accountable, and Uganda deserves the full truth – Joel needs to be investigated. #ParliamentaryHeist
What an extraordinary three days at Speke Resort Munyonyo. Uganda's tourism industry showed up - fully, beautifully, and with the kind of energy that reminds you why this country is called the Pearl of Africa🇺🇬
Thank you to @TourismBoardUg for organising a landmark 10th edition. A decade of telling Uganda's story to the world and the story keeps getting better.
Thank you to every operator, investor, hosted buyer, exhibitor, media partner, and delegate who came through. To the panelists, the speakers, the cultural performers, the chefs, and everyone who gave their time and their craft to make this expo what it was.
And thank you to everyone who attended the Source Markets Session and visited the Back to the Source: The Nile booth where we were sharing the story of this film and the exciting plans ahead was one of the highlights of the three days.
Until next year🙏🏾

I congratulate the Rt. Hon. Speaker Jacob Oboth Oboth and Deputy Speaker Thomas Tayebwa and thank the MPs for carrying out their mandate of voting, peacefully and transparently.
The NRM candidates obtained more votes than the NRM members in the House, and I note the votes our ally Mao took away. We shall address this because we want a united Parliament that serves our people better.
Regarding this Parliament, I have been patient before, but this term there will be no room for leaders who seek titles without helping the people they lead. I am directing NRM leaders to return to the parishes and ensure that existing government programmes are lifting people out of poverty. I do not want to hear excuses about poverty while solutions already exist. Ministers and government officials who fail in this responsibility will be held accountable. This is Kisanja no sleep . Enough is enough.
Today, Parliament chooses its Speaker.
H.E. @KagutaMuseveni arrived for the nomination and election process, marking another important step in the country’s democratic and parliamentary journey
This evening at State House Entebbe, I met the first NRM Caucus of the 12th Parliament and welcomed the endorsement of Hon. Jacob Oboth Oboth as candidate for Speaker and Rt. Hon. Thomas Tayebwa as candidate for Deputy Speaker.
I congratulated them and reminded the Caucus that since the inception of the NRM, we have rejected bad politics. When choosing leaders, we must first ask what needs to be done for the people before asking who should do it. Politics must reject identity, religion, tribalism and gender chauvinism, and instead focus on solving people’s problems. Our priority remains wealth creation and social- economic transformation through productive engagement in agriculture, services, artisanship and ICT.
This afternoon at State House Entebbe, I met a delegation from Africa Centers for Disease Control (CDC) led by Director General Dr. Jean Kaseya, who briefed me on the regional Ebola situation and the measures being taken to ensure Uganda remains protected.
They proposed establishing a continental Incident Management Support Team for Ebola in Kampala to strengthen regional coordination and monitoring efforts, which Uganda welcomes and will support.
With proper attention and preparedness, Ebola is very manageable.
Global exports of all forms of coffee totalled about 13.59 million bags in March 2026. 85% of the exported coffee is Green Bean(Raw Coffee). Africa contributed only 1.4 million bags and Uganda as the leading coffee exporter on the continent exporting a total of 671,152 bags.
