One mistake clients make is assuming that lying to their lawyer will help them escape liability or secure justice faster. You cannot lie to your doctor about your health and expect an illness to disappear. The same applies to your lawyer.

Your lawyer cannot effectively protect you with a false version of the truth or a half-truth. Eventually, the truth may come out, and when it does, you may be the one to bear the consequences. Whatever the circumstances, trust your lawyer with the truth. Let them advise you on the best lawful way forward, and leave the rest to God.
