🚨 LHC ISSUES WRITTEN VERDICT ON RIZWAN–NCCIA CASE

The Lahore High Court has dismissed Mohammad Rizwan’s petition challenging the NCCIA’s inquiry into alleged online betting and gambling.

• Rizwan has been directed to cooperate fully with the NCCIA investigation.
• NCCIA has been directed not to harass or unnecessarily trouble Rizwan and to proceed strictly according to law.
• The court noted that the inquiry is still at a preliminary stage and does not warrant judicial intervention at this point.
• The call-up notice does not, by itself, mean that Rizwan has been declared guilty.
• The court held that the ICC Anti-Corruption Code does not prevent action under Pakistani law.
• Rizwan may approach the appropriate legal forum regarding the return of his seized mobile phone.

The NCCIA inquiry remains ongoing, and no final finding against Rizwan has been issued at this stage.(Arfa Feroz Zake)
