Close to 900 checkpoints and gates already carve up the West Bank, and today Israeli forces added a new batch at the entrances of villages and junctions in the north, per WAFA.

Reaching a hospital, a job or your own grandmother's house now runs through a steel bar and whoever holds the key that day.

Every one of them gets described as a temporary security step, and the count has only climbed since 2023, which leaves both sides facing locked villages, angrier young men and a peace process with nothing left to negotiate over.

🇱🇧 Israeli airstrikes, shelling and explosions hit southern Lebanon despite “ceasefire”

In the Bint Jbeil district, Israeli warplanes struck the outskirts of Baraachit, on Monday, Lebanon’s National News Agency reported, while artillery shelling targeted Kounine and Israeli forces carried out a large explosion in Ainata.

An Israeli airstrike also targeted Deir Siryan in the Marjayoun district.
