We want our children to be close to the Qur'an, so we help them recite and memorise its surahs.

⏰ Reminder: Clocks go back one hour overnight at 2am

Make the most of the shorter days for fasting and the longer nights for Tahajjud.

“Winter is the best season for the believer. Its nights are long for him to pray in, and its days are short for him to fast in.” - Al-Ḥasan al-Baṣrī (raḥimahullāh)

[Life With Allah - الحياة مع الله @alifewithallah]

How Kind and Generous is Allah ﷻ! Every time one of the five daily prayers begins, He opens the gates of heaven and listens to the supplications of His servants, from the adhān until the prayer ends!

Muḥammad ﷺ: the oft-praised, Allah’s chosen one and the finest of His creation.

Send abundant ṣalawāt upon our beloved Prophet ﷺ, especially on the day and night of Jumuʿah.

Three Days of Fasting Each Month: The Reward of Fasting a Lifetime

With the days getting shorter, it’s a perfect opportunity to try to fast the white days each month, as well as on Mondays and Thursdays.

For the heart that loves Allah, nothing compares to the joy of being alone with Him in the darkness of the night, confiding in Him and finding comfort in intimate conversation with Him.

As parents and educators, we want to see our children become huffadh of the Qur’an.

But we forget the true purpose of memorising the Qur’an: to understand it and use it as a guide to live our lives.

A Noble Gift: Learning And Teaching the Qur’an

[Life With Allah - الحياة مع الله @alifewithallah]

Ibn Rajab (raḥimahullāh) explains that “Such a person is elevated from the level of īmān to the level of iḥsān, so that he worships Allah as if he sees Him. His heart becomes filled with knowledge (maʿrifah) of Allah, His love, greatness, fear, awe, reverence, closeness, and longing for Him, until the person ‘sees’ Allah with the eye of insight…

This state within the hearts of the devoted lovers of Allah continues to grow stronger until their hearts become completely filled with it. Nothing remains in their hearts besides Him, and their limbs move only in accordance with what their hearts contain. When a servant reaches this state, it is said of him: ‘Nothing remains in his heart except Allah,’ i.e. His knowledge, love, and remembrance.”

It's easy to teach your child how to pray, make wudu and fast. But how do you nurture a love for these acts of worship? How do you plant a love for the deen in their little hearts?

Sujūd is one of the best and most honoured times to make duʿā’. Pour your heart out to Allah in sujūd and cry out of fear of Him. Make duʿā’ for everything, be it minor or major. Be selfless and make duʿā’ for your family, friends and the ummah. Be like Abū al-Dardā’ (raḍiy Allāhu ʿanhu) who said, “Indeed I make duʿā’ for thirty of my brothers whilst I am in sujūd, with their names and their fathers’ names.”

So many of our children can recite beautifully, but do they know what Allah is saying to them?

Our Qur’an & Tadabbur books help your child go beyond reciting and memorising.

If you want to be close to Allah’s Messenger ﷺ, then send as much ṣalawāt as possible, as he ﷺ said, “The closest of people to me on the Day of Judgement will be those who send the most ṣalawāt upon me” (Tirmidhī).

Recite ṣalawāt with a present heart and increase the amount on the day and night of Jumu‘ah.

We all want our children to be of the people of the Qur'an, holding it close to themselves in times of ease and in times of difficulty.

But if you're unsure how to build that bond, we pray this post may be of some help.

[Life With Allah - الحياة مع الله @alifewithallah]

This opening duʿāʾ of ṣalāh brings the heart before its Creator. It combines praise of Allah, yaqīn in His promises, complete surrender to Him and a heartfelt plea for His mercy and forgiveness.
