Google is rolling out a major Gemini upgrade for AI video.
Google’s new Gemini Omni 1.1 Flash brings more control and flexibility to video creation:
• Scene extension up to 40 seconds
• Start & end frame controls
• Reference video support
• Faster, cheaper 360p drafts
• 1080p & 4K upscaling
The real upgrade is control.
Creators can now shape how scenes start, end, extend and move — pushing AI video closer to a real production tool.

1. I don’t expect there to be a significant difference, but I’m still looking into it.
2. It’s being developed with the intention of including a built-in magnet.
3. I haven’t checked the peak brightness yet. I’ll mention it if I find out.
4. Nothing like that. Instead, an improved Privacy Display is expected to be included.
5. The battery capacity will likely be the same as or slightly larger than the previous generation. However, silicon-carbon anode technology will probably be limited to the Ultra and Pro models.
6. UWB can be mentioned, but its inclusion is not confirmed yet.
7. It should be possible up to the Pro model. For now, it may remain an Ultra-exclusive feature, with the Pro potentially getting it later by creating a performance difference between the models.
8. The latest components will be used for the Ultra and Pro, while the others may reuse existing components.
I checked again earlier, and that design is indeed correct. The battery is currently being developed in the 5,700–6,000mAh range. The downside of using a silicon-carbon anode is that its battery lifespan can be lower than that of a conventional lithium-ion battery, so they’re currently trying to find the optimal balance between battery capacity and longevity.
I have a prediction that I’m extremely confident about:
A lot of you think the Galaxy S27 Ultra looks ugly right now. But I believe that within a month, that strong sense of rejection will fade significantly, and quite a few people may even change their minds.
Our perception of design is actually far less “absolute” than we might think.
When a smartphone keeps a similar design language for several years, our brains gradually develop a visual expectation. We subconsciously start to believe, “This is what it’s supposed to look like.” So when a completely different design suddenly appears, that unfamiliarity gets amplified. Our immediate reaction is often that it looks strange, awkward, or simply ugly.
There are several psychological factors involved here, including familiarity preference, resistance to change, and the mere-exposure effect.
The mere-exposure effect is particularly interesting. A new design may feel difficult to accept the first time you see it. But as you keep seeing it every day, from more angles, in different colors, and eventually in real-life photos, your brain gradually becomes familiar with the new visual language. As that unfamiliarity fades, your judgment starts to focus more on the design itself.
So I think the intense criticism surrounding the S27 Ultra right now certainly reflects genuine controversy over the design, but a considerable part of it is also the initial shock of such a major visual change.
Of course, time alone can’t magically turn a poor design into a great one. But I’m willing to make a prediction:
Run the exact same poll again one month from now, and the result will probably look noticeably different.
That’s what I’m most interested in observing.
One month from now, let’s come back and see if this prediction was right.
Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra makes a place in the top 5 best-selling smartphones for Q2 2026 as the iPhone 17 series leads the top three places

The prototype shown here has the same layout of cam placement S27 Ultra has just without the camera plateau.
Samsung showed this back in 2023
For the Galaxy S27 Ultra, there have been test units with the S Pen removed, allowing Samsung to push the battery capacity all the way up to 7,000mAh. There are currently five prototype variants, and the current development target is somewhere between 5,700mAh and 6,000mAh.
According to the source, the one major thing Samsung is going to focus on for the S27 Ultra is multiple camera switching. Samsung is using an all-new algorithm to switch cameras smoothly with less shake. 🫨
And better hardware Image stabilisation in Main & Telephoto cameras.
