Presided over by the Busia County Governor, Dr. Paul Otuoma, on behalf of H.E. President William Ruto, we joined the ACK Diocese of Nambale for the foundation stone laying and launch service of the Church.
The occasion, which culminated in a resource mobilization drive, underscored the enduring role of faith-based institutions as anchors of social cohesion and community development.
Supporting such initiatives demonstrates a broader commitment to giving back to society by strengthening institutions that nurture values, promote unity and contribute to sustainable socio-economic transformation at the community level.
Leaders present were Sen. Okiya Omtatah (Busia County), Mr. Arthur Osiya (PAS), Prof. Paul Wachana (Board Chairman – KIPPRA), MPs Hon. Geoffrey Mulanya (Nambale), Hon. Raphael Wanjala (Budalangi), Hon. Joseph Oyula (Butula), Hon. Mary Otucho (Teso South), and Hon. Kaunya (Teso North).
Also in attendance were the Team Kazi Western, represented by Dr. Josephine Ojiambo and Bonface Erute.
Joined fellow national and regional leaders, the clergy and congregants of St. Augustine Lwanda Catholic Church, Bungoma County, for the Sunday Mass, which culminated in a resource mobilization drive to support the completion of the church’s ongoing infrastructure projects.
This morning, H.E. @WilliamsRuto presided over the swearing-in of newly appointed Judges of the High Court, the Environment and Land Court, and the COMESA Court of Justice at State House, Nairobi.
I wish them every success as they take up their responsibilities in strengthening the administration of justice and advancing the rule of law.
Attended the Development Meeting towards the G7 Summit in Paris, France, where I advanced Kenya's position on strengthening resilience in vulnerable countries by bridging the early warning gap and aligning financing with sustainable development priorities.
I highlighted Kenya's shift from reactive disaster response to proactive resilience-building through the Early Warning for All (EW4All) initiative, leveraging technology and innovation to deliver timely, localized alerts while linking early warning systems to financed and coordinated response mechanisms.
Additionally, I underscored the growing fiscal and economic strain posed by climate shocks, noting that disasters continue to erode development gains and expose structural vulnerabilities, particularly across Africa.
In this regard, I called for urgent reforms in global climate financing to prioritize grants and concessional funding, establish rapid-response resilience facilities and scale up blended finance to unlock private capital.
I further emphasized the need to strengthen regional food systems, invest in value chains and reduce overreliance on external supply chains, positioning resilience as central to economic sovereignty and long-term stability.
The successful delivery of priority interventions under the Medium Term Plan IV (2023–2027) depends on a strong policy, legal and statutory framework.
Aligning and prioritizing the Government's legislative agenda is therefore essential to advancing inclusive growth under the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA).
Led the State Department for Economic Planning and its agencies in a roundtable engagement with the State Department for Parliamentary Affairs to fast-track key policy, legal and statutory frameworks critical to accelerating BETA implementation.
I underscored the need to anchor Economic Planning in law to strengthen the link between planning, policy, budgeting and implementation.
Present during the meeting were Dr. Eldah Onsumu, Executive Director KIPPRA; Dr. MacDonald Ombudho, Director General KNBS; Amb. Dr. Samori Okwiya, CEO NEPAD/APRM Kenya Secretariat; Yusuf Mbuno, CEO NG-CDF; and Lucy Kimondu Ag. Director General NCPD.
Joined colleague Principal Secretaries for our monthly coordination meeting, chaired by the Head of Public Service, Mr. @koske_felix.
The session focused on strengthening the planning, implementation and monitoring of government programmes and projects across the country, with an emphasis on enhancing coordination, tracking progress and ensuring effective delivery in line with our national development priorities.
The government, through the Department of Economic Planning, has launched a school tree-planting initiative to support girls’ education and protect them from early pregnancies, STIs and HIV. Speaking at Siera Girls Secondary School in Nambale, Busia County, PS Boniface Makokha said the county is among ten with high cases of violence against girls, leading to dropouts and early marriages. He warned perpetrators of strict legal action and urged parents to keep children in school.

Good planning and hard work lead to prosperity, but it is God who gives the wisdom to plan well.
With my family and the staff from the State Department for Economic Planning, we joined the faithful of Christ Pinnacle Embassies, Kitengela, under Prophet David Losojo, in acknowledging the mighty power of God in our lives.
I encouraged believers to know the Holy Spirit, to listen to Him always and to obey His guidance.
With CS Hon. John Mbadi (National Treasury & Economic Planning), we witnessed H.E. William Ruto assent to the National Infrastructure Fund Bill, a ceremony held at State House, Nairobi.
The new law establishes the National Infrastructure Fund (NIF) as a financing framework to mobilise long-term capital for strategic national infrastructure projects, strengthening the country's development planning framework by aligning infrastructure financing with national priorities.
The establishment of the National Infrastructure Fund therefore enhances our ability to translate long-term development plans into tangible infrastructure that drives productivity, supports trade and regional integration and creates opportunities for enterprise and employment across the country.
