Happiest Birthday, Ndugu @eddie_mutwe . Yet again, you mark this special day behind prison walls not because you committed a crime, but because you stood courageously for truth, justice, and the people. Your resilience continues to inspire. Wishing you strength, hope, and freedom. #FreeEddieMutwe
watched South African police escort protesters without executing them for 2 days. Even when marchers started looting or vandalizing property, they responded with non-lethal force.
Can police in Kenya, Nigeria, Uganda, and Tanzania learn from their counterparts here?
You could tell from the entire exercise today that she was internally struggling with something. Perhaps Matembe’s tears yesterday did not let her sleep peacefully, plus all the public sentiments that followed. She finally gathered the courage to say words that many of her colleagues in Temples of (in)Justice have dishonourably failed to say, as they chose to enable oppression of the persecuted. Her conscience has refused to die while she lives. It might be only one instance, but she deserves flowers and respect. Keep that way Sheilla Gloria Atim, regardless. May history count you among those that stood up in the storm. Perhaps more consciences could be gradually woken back to life. Perhaps they’ll be challenged by her courage to say those few words.
In these past 8 years since 2018, our brother @eddie_mutwe has found himself celebrating many of his birthdays from prison. For no crime whatsoever, he has been abducted, arrested, illegally detained and subjected to untold torture. Yet in all this, Eddie remains solid - fortified by his innocence and the justness of the cause. On this his birthday, we celebrate him and wish him the very best this life can offer.
As I was leaving Luzira prison to check on our illegally jailed colleagues, I bumped into Igara East MP @MichealMawanda1 the Architect of the 164Bn cooperatives Heist at the entrance of where he should be confined!
I did the moral duty to deliver the message to the end consumer!
A few hours ago at the Luzira Grade 1 Magistrates court before Senior Citizen Miria Matembe was granted bail.
We're united by oppression, and we're hopeful that one day, all this will become history.

Relieved to learn that Hon. Miria Matembe has been granted bail following her abduction last week. It remains a shame that Matembe, a 73-year-old grandmother with an unblemished record of public service, had to suffer this ordeal in the first place!
Remember, Matembe was subjected to this ordeal because she bruised the fragile ego of Muhoozi Kainerugaba -- the dictator's infantile son -- when she criticized him. It really takes special cowardice for an army commander approaching 60 years of old age to flex State power on a defenceless grandmother whose courage he can never match in 100 lifetimes.
More shameful, the regime that practices sectarianism openly charged Matembe with "Promoting Sectarianism."
Imagine the very regime that breathes and practises sectarianism, claiming the moral authority to prosecute those who expose its sectarianism!
We shall have to unite and find a lasting solution for these blood-thirsty tyrants!
