Thursday was a wonderful afternoon in Cully as we opened the @PortlandCC Opportunity Center that combines workforce training with social support services. The pandemic was hard on healthcare workers, & it its vital we do more to encourage & support people entering those careers.
Glad to see this new partnership with Housing Connector @Connector_PNW come to fruition to improve housing coordination efficiency, increase available housing inventory, and connect people currently experiencing homelessness to long term housing.

Economic justice is about giving every person the resources they need to live stable, productive lives. That will ultimately be what has the biggest impact on reducing domestic violence. That also includes just wages for workers in our social service systems, including DV system.
Last night I was incredibly honored to receive the @BradleyAngle lifetime achievement award - particularly given that this was a room full of people who have spent their lives - whether as survivors or providers - working to address domestic violence. You deserve this award.
Poverty and economic instability increase the risk of violence & abuse, and can trap people in abusive situations. We have to get to economic justice for all who still sit on the margins of our economic system.
