What did you get up to this weekend? 🤯
For every Muslim, black or brown person you know, it was hell. Here's some key steps you can take as allies and professionals that can help. 🧵
People used to flat share in the private renting sector as a way of helping them save up.
Now even that is completely impossible. £1500 for a room in Clapham with 4 other flatmates paying the same to a landlord. How can anyone possibly save, even whilst flat sharing? It’s impossible but for many, the only available option.
We need more access to council housing for people. That’s the only truly affordable, stable and secure renting option.
Housing is grossly underreported given its size and significance.
The next govt inherits a housing crisis on multiple levels. However costly or complex this is why it needs to be dealt with.
At least 55 children have died in temporary accommodation since 2019 (March 2024).

The idea “every aspect of the support for disabled people” must “help people get into work” is deeply grim from Labour. Benefits and the NHS don’t exist to turn disabled people into economic productively units. They are to help us live well. https://t.co/qrgEsAlGHv

A short, boring but important story.
My daughter (20) works in a coffee shop.
There is a lady who comes in.
She has early onset dementia.
She told my daughter she has no family and gets really lonely.
They spend ages chatting.
When a client leaves IAPT not feeling better, they don't say "This brief, limited session mannualised therapy hasn't worked for me", they say
"THERAPY" hasn't worked for me"
& can come away thinking they are beyond help.
54% of IAPT clients don't come for a 2nd session.
It was a real pleasure speaking to parents about their housing issues this morning at Loughborough primary school in Lambeth, with my colleague Muna Adam. It was organised by NOPA a brilliant charity in the borough. A lovely bunch @OsbornesLaw
