"A private corporation wants to control Earth's temperature."
That's the warning from attorney Blake Horwitz on the latest episode of Take FiVe.
What happens when geoengineering projects collide with natural events like volcanic eruptions? Could weather modification efforts create unintended global consequences?
Blake Horwitz and Tom Renz join us to discuss geoengineering, government accountability, environmental concerns, and why they believe citizens must pay attention to what's happening in our skies.

Why is a federal trial attorney warning the world about a private company's plan to change the Earth's temperature?
GeoFight Attorney Blake Horwitz has spent more than 30 years litigating complex cases. Now he's sounding the alarm about Stardust, a company that has publicly disclosed plans to seek approval for atmospheric interventions designed to dim the sun and reduce global temperatures.
What happens if a geoengineering program reduces global temperatures at the same time a major volcanic eruption naturally cools the planet?
The answer could mean devastating impacts to growing seasons, agriculture, food production, and the global food supply.
This isn't a debate about politics.
It's a debate about risk.
It's a debate about consent.
And it's a debate about whether private corporations should have the power to experiment with the atmosphere we all share.

What happens if a private company cools the planet... and then nature does the same thing?
Stardust's stated goal is to reduce global temperatures through solar geoengineering. But what happens if a major volcanic eruption occurs at the same time?
Volcanoes can already inject massive amounts of particles into the atmosphere and lower temperatures. If artificial atmospheric intervention is layered on top of a natural cooling event, what happens to agriculture, growing seasons, food production, and global stability?
The truth is nobody knows.
And that's exactly the problem.
Before anyone is allowed to experiment with the atmosphere on a planetary scale, the public deserves answers.

@MurielBlaivePhD We could not walk along the canal because it's more thank 1km from our home... They made up ridiculous rules and at the same time withheld the information about how to protect yourself (ie, take airborne precuations).
@DrAnnieHickox@JohnJCrace@guardian On a related point: preventer inhalers for asthma create a cumulative feeling of dread in some people. This I found out to my cost.
@Demo2020cracy I don't think it is a simple sight test. You have to have some concept of the possibilities - although since April 2025, they have been very well publicised...
@NickMackx@tylerblack32 Depends which masks and how they are worn. Use an FFP2 properly: you're all set. Wear a surgical mask under the nose: not so much.
@tylerblack32 I'm a little surprised you can put out such a simplified list of statements and make black and white, all-encompassing claims about their truth or untruth. I think a great deal more nuance is required on some of them (although most of them seem pretty ridiculous).
