Meta has just shown Apple what a consumer-ready Vision Pro alternative could look like.

Its new VR Glasses weigh only 100g and bring together 5K micro-OLED displays at 37 PPD, eye and hand tracking, color passthrough, Snapdragon Reality Elite, virtual displays, up to three hours of playback, the Quest catalog, Xbox Cloud Gaming and IMAX Enhanced certification.

At $1,299 versus Vision Pro’s $3,499, the key trade-off is clear: processing, battery and storage live in a compact external module. That seems far more practical than placing 750–800g on someone’s head.

Then there is Hologram: a photorealistic version of you created from a quick phone capture and animated in real time for WhatsApp, Zoom and other calls.

This is the result of more than a decade of Meta work across headsets, optics, tracking, avatars, games and software. Apple proved spatial computing could be compelling. Meta is now trying to make it something consumers will actually buy.

También está Hologram: una representación fotorrealista creada con una captura rápida desde el móvil y animada en tiempo real para llamadas de WhatsApp, Zoom y otras aplicaciones.

Esto resume más de diez años de trabajo de Meta en visores, ópticas, tracking, avatares, juegos y software. Apple demostró que la computación espacial podía ser atractiva. Meta intenta convertirla en un producto que la gente quiera comprar.
