Thinking aloud here, Faraid system is supposed to ensure male relatives are able to financially provide for all their female relatives by inheriting said means to do so from for eg deceased husband, but we see that is not the case.

Living male relatives take the assets and money then wash their hands off.

Syariah inheritance law should be amended so that the female relatives of men who insists on Faraid distribution of deceased's wealth can be held legally accountable for not financially supporting their female relatives.

For eg, husband died, leaving single stay at home mother of two kids, the living brother chooses Faraid system.

If living brother doesn't provide shelter, food, healthcare, education in the standard the deceased husband provides for his family, the widow can apply to Syariah Court for irresponsible behaviour and claim for her rights.

I feel this is just, and fulfills the original purpose of Faraid and enforces it. Thoughts?
