Last night our members started reviewing rope rescue equipment and knots. Members got familiar with the new harnesses we got last year and also new hardware equipment. We also discussed the advantages of the new equipment compared to the old.
This past Wednesday our members worked on sharpening our forcible entry skills on our Firehouse Innovations LI, Inc. door prop. Single and team forcible entry techniques were reviewed and applied while also discussing some of our different doors and buildings throughout our town.

We're still 2.5 days from onset, but the probability of significant impacts in our area from a Winter Storm Sat night through early Mon is increasing. A Winter Storm WATCH has been issued for our entire forecast area
2 alarm vacant duplex fire in the borough yesterday morning. We arrived as the 2nd due engine and secured a water supply while helping pull multiple lines for extinguishment and exposure protection. 201 was on scene for 9 hours while demo crew took down the building.
Last night for drill our members got together with Munhall #4 and reviewed Rescue 203 and Rescue Engine 201. Any rescue call in Munhall both companies are on the response so learning each others vehicles are important so the incident can be handled quickly.
Drill this past Wednesday our members reviewed hooking up to a hydrant with a new demo adapter while also practiced pulling and repacking lines and also reviewed the generator system and light tower operations.
Earlier this afternoon our volunteers responded into Homestead for a working structure fire in the 900 blk of West Street. 201 engine arrived as the 2nd due engine and stretched a back up line into the house. Fire is currently under investigation by the ACFM.
201 RE out as the 2nd due engine assisting Homestead with a possible commercial fire down the waterfront earlier this evening. Issue was isolated to a roof top HVAC unit.
Earlier this afternoon our crews responded to 8th Ave and Whitaker Way for an accident with entrapment. PD arrived reporting one vehicle into the utility pole with entrapment. 201, 203, and 292 worked hand and hand to extricate one from the vehicle.
Yesterday we took delivery of our new cribbing. Our volunteers inventoried all the new cribbing as well as made bundles for more efficient deployment when needed. Our volunteers also reviewed stabilization.
Our volunteers just cleared up from this vehicle roll over accident with reported entrapment. Upon arrival of FD the driver self extricated and was evaluated by EMS. Incident was held to 201 and 203 for traffic control and scene lighting.
Yesterday our volunteers responded to 6 calls including a mutual aid assist into North Versailles for 15 houses flooded by the rain fall. A crew 5 responded with the service to assist North Versailles units and other neighboring agencies with removing the water from structures.
Monday night some of our members traveled to Penn Hills #7 to attend a class on PRT’s new electric buses. Members learned about the electrical system as well as learning about different things to consider in the event of a fire or rescue scenario. Thank you to Penn Hills #7.
