What many developing economies need is not more handouts or borrowed models, but tailor-made economic strategies that reflect the realities of their rapidly growing, youthful, but still fragile economies.
The Dependency Trap: Exporting Raw, Importing Finished

One of the most striking structural problems afflicting many African economies is their continued dependence on exporting primary goods; raw minerals, unprocessed agricultural products etc, while importing manufactured goods. According to UN Trade and Development data, in 2024, some 76.8% of Africa’s exports were primary goods........
