SIX! Yesterday a handpicked audience in Bengaluru were given a sneak preview of the 6th Cafe of @arakucoffeein @arakucoffee making the scores level - 3 in Paris and 3 in India. Bengaluru has now 2. This one in Commissariat Road on way to the Garuda Mall.

But the occasion was a landmark in Coffee history in India. We unveiled or rather unboxed the first of only 5 NANOLOT (just 84 packs) at a RECORD ₹10,000/- per KG - highest ever for ARABICA. Over USD 100 per KG is a statement that ARAKU Coffee curated by the tribal farmers and @naandi_india have reached a record that it deserved.

Life Trustee of Naandi Foundation and Director of ARAKU Coffee the renowned @kris_sg unboxed the first pack to be bought by coffee aficionado and Bangalore’s young Turk unicorn creator @ANarayanan24 and boy! Soon after we sold in an hour 72 more packs online.

Indian Coffee Consumers have raised the bar and saluted the hard work of the tribal farmers. Thank you🙏

Gratitude also to the special dignitaries who came to honour the 3 tribal farmers and cheer all of us for this amazing impact project - I call out my friend and supporter for years, Muriel Penicaud @murielpenicaud the former Labour Minister of France 🇫🇷 in President Emmanuel Macron Cabinet, Marc Lamy the Consul General of France 🇫🇷 in Bengaluru @BangaloreFrance (France is a special partner where we launched @arakucoffee as retail first in March 2017) and Hilary McGeachy @AusCGBengaluru to whose nation we export Araku Coffee.

It was a historic momentous event.

My eyes are swelling with gratitude 🙏 as I type these words.

I urge Bengaluru to keep giving us the love we got and visit the new cafe designed by our global brand architect Jorge Zapata from New York. The “Apple Cafe” of India is getting better with each store.

It was my great honor to then travel to Paris as Vice President and visit with Dr. Baulieu, who was warm, brilliant, and passionate. I will forever honor their work together, which continues to help save lives to this day.

Happy Makar Sankaranti to every one from Geddavalasa village In Hukumpeta Mandal of Andhra Pradesh in the Eastern Ghats mountain range where a 100,000 tribal families have created with @naandi_india the world renowned @arakucoffeein @arakucoffee and planted 49.6 Million Trees that can be called the largest community made FOOD FOREST in the world.

Here I accompanied (my friend for over a decade and half) @murielpenicaud the former Labour Minister of France in President Emmanuel Macron’s cabinet who came here after a gap of 12 years to see the transformation of the region and its people. She was profuse with praise and emotional as it was here that her only daughter Mathilde had lived for a year serving these populations as a volunteer with Naandi Foundation. In those days we had planted only 2 million trees and when we said we dream to open a ARAKU cafe in Paris she had felt it was next to impossible and that it was a pipe dream! Today she declared ARAKU stands for not just COFFEE but doing the IMPOSSIBLE 🙏 as she planted the customary tree in our Central Coffee Processing Unit.

She being a great photographer was rolling her camera nonstop and promised to gift us with some great pictures as a token of her appreciation and gratitude.

I dedicate this tweet to all the farmers who make our festivals have the feast we cherish.

I append some magical pictures that Vinod Hegde, Venkat and yours truly took in between our 10 hour village stay including eating Sankranti sweets the farmers made at home.

Avant de participer à la cérémonie d’ouverture des WorldSkills Lyon ce soir, j’ai une grande pensée pour toute cette délégation française qui, autour de la ministre Muriel Penicaud est allée à Kazan en Russie, en Août 2019, présenter et défendre la candidature de Lyon pour les prochaines épreuves mondiales de 2023 (devenues 24 suite au Covid)
Nous étions revenus avec une victoire face à 3 autres candidatures et le sentiment du devoir accompli pour permettre à notre pays d’organiser cet événement mondial qui met en avant les savoir-faire professionnels.
Malgré plusieurs échecs précédents, notre
volonté farouche de pouvoir organiser les Worldskills en France avait permis de réunir toutes les parties concernées pour enfin ramener cette compétition en France.
Et bien, maintenant, place à la compétition et à la fête des métiers, à Lyon avec 1 800 compétiteurs venant de 65 pays.
Soutenons cette formidable jeunesse mondiale passionnée par leurs métiers !!
