I totally appreciate your enthusiasm for American interventions. A glance at American history is sobering. From Cuba to the Philippines, a couple of trips to Mexico, United Fruit in the Caribean, stealing Haiti's gold, the entire cold war (Vietnam, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Bay of Pigs, Panama, Granada), and the Middle East form 1990 on. All well-intentioned, and I believe justified. But we need to understand the aftermath. We make a lot of enemies.
