Pritzker: The root that tears apart your house’s foundation begins as a seed—a seed of distrust, hate, and blame.
The seed that grew into a dictatorship in Europe a lifetime ago didn’t arrive overnight. It started with everyday Germans, mad about inflation and looking for someone to blame.
I’m watching with a foreboding dread what is happening in our country right now. After we’ve discriminated against, deported, or disparaged all the immigrants, the gay, lesbian, and transgender people, the developmentally disabled, the women, and the minorities—once we’ve ostracized our neighbors and betrayed our friends—
After that, when the problems we started with are still there, staring us in the face…
What comes next?
All the atrocities of human history lurk in the answer to that question. And if we don’t want to repeat history, then for god’s sake, in this moment, we better be strong enough to learn from it.
Reporter: You are talking tonight about the United States taking over a sovereign territory. What authority would allow you to do that? Are you talking about a permanent occupation there?
Trump: I do see a long term ownership position, and I see it bringing great stability…
Despicable. As families grieve, Trump should be leading, not lying. We put safety first, drove down close calls, grew Air Traffic Control, and had zero commercial airline crash fatalities out of millions of flights on our watch.
President Trump now oversees the military and the FAA. One of his first acts was to fire and suspend some of the key personnel who helped keep our skies safe. Time for the President to show actual leadership and explain what he will do to prevent this from happening again.
Trump: "When I left office and Biden took over, he changed them back to lower than ever before. I put safety first. Obama, Biden and the Democrats put policy first. And they put politics at a level that nobody has ever seen, because this was the lowest level. Their policy was horrible and their politics was even worse."
BRENNAN: You campaigned on lowering prices. Which executive order lowers prices?
VANCE: We have done a lot.
BRENNAN: So grocery prices aren't going to come down?
VANCE: No Margaret, prices are gonna come down. But it's gonna take a little bit of time.
