I want to thank all the teachers that go above teaching to make sure the kids aren’t hungry. If you see snacks on the classroom lists, imagine doing an all-day deposition on an empty stomach. Then add to cart, because I know so many teachers who are spending their own money. They are often the first to notice too. I remember when my chemistry teacher would ask me to “split” an orange or a granola bar with him because “his wife put him on a diet” but really it’s because he quietly noticed my eating disorder. My hunger was by choice (teenage girl nonsense) but there are so many kids that are hungry because there’s no food at home
