Many locums are good colleagues - but some out of necessity have to act as consultants without commensurate qualifications - but can cost more than those that do. A healthy, substantive workforce would be cheaper, more efficient, develop services - and be better for our patients

According to the latest data, suicide rates are at the highest level since 1999. Three quarters of suicides are by men, but the number of suicides amongst women has increased, and is now greater than in 1994.
Nobody should go through suicidal feelings alone. Our patient leaflet sets out where you, or a loved one, can access specialist support 24/7.
