#Somali American Network members in #Minnesota met tonight and quickly raised $15,000 for flood victims in #Somalia. Funds will be immediately going to Alrahma Foundation to purchase boats for communities such as #Baardheere where the main bridge connecting residential area to commercial area was washed away.

Such effort is a drop in the ocean. The devastation is so enormous.

The only way to move people and necessary supplies of life is through ferrying. Water is so high in some areas that boats are going over what used to be people’s homes.

Grassroots citizens led support is the best hope for many of these communities. Please donate generously.

Compare/Contrast, the current Botswana 🇧🇼 and the good old days in Somalia.!

** University students in Botswana get paid $154 monthly to go to school to educate themselves.

** University students in the good old days in Somalia, get paid $45 weekly for laundry and for transportation to see and to visit loved ones outside of Mogadishu.

** Botswana's citizens get free land if they apply when they are above 18.

** Getting the free plot if you are over 18 was not applicable to Somalia because lands are privately owned property, not government-owned property.

** Botswana is so safe that even the President can walk around without security personnel.

** In the good old days of Somalia, Barre used to drive his own car without security personnel and he used to go to public gathering places. The country was safe and nobody cared about politics.

** In Botswana all citizens receive free healthcare.

** In the good old days of Somalia, all citizens used to receive free healthcare, and free education. All of the public services were gratis.

We missed Barre’s system- May Allah have mercy on his soul.

Without being clannish, is it true this legacy that Barre left behind? Ask for the current president of HSM-he was one of a beneficiary of this public services gratis by Siad Barre(AUN).

دائما البضاعة المستوردة لا يحسنها المستورد كصانعها.
عندما تتابع التنافس في الانتخابات الغربية تشعر أن هناك صراع الإرادات مع صراع البرامج والأهداف. في معظم الأحيان البذاءة المتعمدة والإساءة اللفظية الجارحة قليلة أو غير حاضرة.
أما عندما المسلمون استوردوا "الديموقراطية" من الغرب، فالبذاءة، والافتراء، والعنصرية أصبحت سلاح البعض، خاصة الذين تتلمذوا على الغرب وزعموا تبني مبادئه جملة وتفصيلا -ولو ادعاء فقط- وتركو مبادءهم الأصلية؛ لأن البضاعة ليست بضاعتهم بالتالي أخذوا أسوأها وليس أحسنها، وعلى مبدأ المستورد الا يحسن البضاعة كصانعها، وما يحدث في تركيا خير دليل.

بونت-لاند، هل هي في أمريكا اللاتينية؟

إن مشكلة الحكومة الفدرالية وقادتها -الرئيس ورئيس الوزراء- وغيرهم من السياسيين الصوماليين أنهم لا يستطيعون التمييز بين الأصل والفرع، بين الوطن والمسؤول. ومثل ذلك في حالة بونت-لاند، إذ لا يفرقون بين الولاية بأرضها وشعبها التابعين للحكم الفدرالي، وتحت قيادتهما، وبين حاكمها الذي هو في خلاف سياشي معهما.
أيها السادة إنكم في خلاف مع حاكم الولاية وليس مع شعبها، وكان من الأجدر أن ترحبوا بأي تطور وتقدم يحصل في الولاية كالانتخابات المحلية التي جرت اليوم، وتهنئوا الشعب بها رغما عن خلافكم مع حاكم الولاية.

ومن هذا الباب فإن التزام وسائل الإعلام الفدرالية الصمت تجاه انتخابات بونت-لاند، وكأنها جرت في جزيرة تقع في أوقيانوسيا أو أمريكا اللاتينية، كما التزم الرئيس والوزير الأول والحكومة كلها الصمت المطبق لأمر الانتخابات، أمر مرفوض.
