Hereβs the thing, folks!
It doesnβt matter how many lines you can draw on a chart.
Planetary lines, gann fans, harmonic levels, square-root calculations, Elliott wave counts, Ichimoku, astrology, take your pick.
If you donβt know how to trade, none of them mean a damn thing.
These are tools. They can help you identify structure, timing, probability and opportunity, but they do not replace the ability to actually trade, manage risk, execute a position, admit when youβre wrong and protect your capital.
And this is where I think people need to be very careful.
I see far too many people selling books and courses while presenting themselves as though theyβve somehow unlocked the future and the Secret to the Universe. Theyβll tell you they know the real Gann methods, or that theyβve decoded the work of traders like Bayer, Jensen, Bradley, Gilmore, Mikula and others.
But hereβs my question..
Where are the live trades?
If someone continually tells you how much they know, sells you courses based on that knowledge, yet never publicly demonstrates that knowledge through actual trades in real time, that should tell you something.
Anyone can explain a chart after the move has happened, he'll anyone can make a prediction and have it happen, its a 50/50 chance price goes up.
Trading it live, with money on the line, is an entirely different thing.
A trader who genuinely knows how to trade and consistently makes money from the market doesnβt need to sell you anything. That doesnβt mean everyone who teaches or sells education is a fraud. There are some genuinely knowledgeable people who care about passing that knowledge on and teaching others how to fish.
But in my experience, they are the rare few.
So donβt be impressed by complicated charts, obscure terminology or claims of Secret Knowledge.
Follow people who have publicly demonstrated that they can actually trade.
One person Iβll happily mention is @luckychartape. Without question, one of the best traders Iβve personally witnessed trading live in my 10 years in this space.
Thereβs a massive difference between knowing trading theory and knowing how to trade.
Learn to recognise the difference, and you'll not only survive in this game, you'll live to tell the tale.
I'm off to Bali for a few wks, see you guys soon. ποΈποΈ
