The Eldest daughter of prophet Muhammad ﷺ👇;
Zaynab bint Muhammad, the eldest daughter of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and his first wife Khadijah bint Khuwaylid (RA), was one of the four daughters born to Khadijah.

Early Life👇;

Zaynab was born in Mecca around 600 CE, roughly ten years before the first revelation to the Prophet ﷺ (around 610 CE), when her father was about 30 years old. She grew up in a noble, affluent household known for integrity and generosity. As the eldest child and daughter, she helped her mother Khadijah and served as a mentor and role model to her younger sisters Ruqayyah, Umm Kulthum, and Fatimah (RA).

Marriage👇;
Before the Prophethood (before December 610 CE), Zaynab married her maternal cousin Abu al-As ibn al-Rabi’ (also spelled Abu al-’As), a respected merchant from the Quraysh tribe. Khadijah gifted her an onyx necklace as a wedding present, which later became symbolically significant. The couple had a son, Ali, who died young, and a daughter named Umamah.

Acceptance of Islam👇;
Zaynab embraced Islam soon after the Prophet ﷺ publicly declared his prophethood. Abu al-As did not convert at that time and remained a non-Muslim. The Quraysh pressured him to divorce Zaynab, offering him any woman he desired, but he refused. The Prophet ﷺ commended him for this stance. Zaynab and Abu al-As continued living together in Mecca despite their religious differences.

She remained in Mecca with her non-Muslim husband. During the Battle of Badr, he fought alongside the Quraysh against the Muslims and was captured. Zaynab sent ransom for his release, including her precious onyx necklace (the gift from her late mother Khadijah). Upon seeing the necklace, the Prophet ﷺ wept, recalling Khadijah. He released Abu al-As on the condition that he allow Zaynab to migrate to Medina. Abu al-As promised to do so and returned to Mecca.

Zaynab’s journey to Medina was perilous. The Prophet ﷺ sent Zayd ibn Harithah to escort her. She traveled in a hawdaj (howdah) accompanied by Kinana ibn al-Rabi’. The Quraysh pursued them at Dhu Tuwa. Habbar ibn al-Aswad attacked, causing her to fall and suffer a miscarriage with significant blood loss. Kinana defended her, and Abu Sufyan intervened to stop further harm. Zaynab was initially taken back but later secretly escorted to Zayd, who brought her safely to Medina. Abu al-As later embraced Islam.

Death👇;
Zaynab passed away in Medina in May/June 629 CE (around 8 AH or 7 AH in some accounts), at approximately age 29. Her death resulted from complications of the miscarriage and injuries from the attack during her migration. Women including Umm Ayman, Sawdah, and Umm Salama (RA) washed her body. She was buried in Jannat al-Baqi in Medina.

She was known for her patience, sacrifice, resilience, and deep faith amid personal trials in the early years of Islam, may Allah be pleased with her 🤲🤍.
